About a week ago, we took Nolan to meet a life-size Thomas the Tank Engine. Our dear, dear friends Tara and Eli were kind enough to join us for this momentous occasion. It is important to know that Nolan loves all things Thomas. He has a train set at home and we have slowly added Thomas characters to the mix. Nolan likes to have his other toys (e.g. race cars, blocks, puzzle pieces) line up and imitate the trains organized movement. It’s fantastic!
So here Nolan waits patiently as this train passes. Thomas is at the end. To the untrained eye, Nolan seems unimpressed. I’m not sure if he cracked a smile the entire time we were there. But that’s our Nolan. He intensely takes it all in, relishing every moment.
Nolan’s appreciation for the day was particularly evidenced the next morning when he packed up all the Thomas goodies he accumulated the day before (along with his Thomas train cars), put on his coat and shoes, and asked to go see Thomas. I’m so glad we were able to have this special day with Nolan and share it with incredible friends. It was a truly fantastic, wonderful day.
