Missing My Better Half
My darling husband is off frolicking in geeky wonderland until Wednesday. Well, it’s actually a conference for “Higher Education Web Professionals” in Milwaukee. It’s a great opportunity for him, and I’m so glad he is able to get away and geek out for a few days. Really, I am. At the same time, however, I am anxious about my first extended stint alone with the boys. (Our friend Adam is here to help, but it’s more of a psychological help than a “roll up the sleeves and get messy” help.)
I suppose that Joshua’s absence could serve a couple purposes. First, I will be reminded of how awesome and helpful he is with the boys. I already know he’s an amazing husband and father, but it is even more apparent when that help is gone. Next, I should learn how capable I am, right? When I make it through the week, I should feel better about my ability to care for the boys. I am super mommy! Hear me roar!!!!
But I’m not a super mommy. I’m a garden variety mommy. So, here’s hoping I don’t massively screw something up. Kids are resilient, right?
